Books
here I include books worth reading
Note: these are books in my current reading list
A must read in attempting to understand The political polarization that divides so many in North America. Haidt , a social psychologist, explains "why liberals, conservatives, and libertarians have such different intuitions about right and wrong, and demonstrates why each side is actually right about many of its central concerns."
I recently spent several hours rising the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama which chronicles the story of racism in America from the slave trade to modern times. The museum while well done is not for the faint at heart. The immediate result of my visit is to purchase books that could help me understand how tacitly perhaps I have contributed to this systemic legacy and what I can do to respond to this ongoing plague.

The jacket reads, "working against racism is part of what it means to call Jesus Lord and Savior."
Becoming All things by Michelle Ami Reys, an Asian American who is a scholar in residence at Hope community Church, a minority-led multicultural church in Austin Texas, opens up the apostle Paul's word to the Corinthian church, "I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible." (1 Corinthians 9:19-23). Defining the controversial title white privilege, Reyes writes. "it's advantages you have that others do not, and these advantages allow you to experience injustice in our country to a lesser degree."
The road away from God, is a story I have heard too often. The road in this case for Jonathan Martin a pastor, and poet is the road to Emmaus. Martin invites his readers to join him on this difficult road that starts in despair and disillusionment but ends in hope and discovery.
